I've been messing with pcopy and I do make copies of the visible screen and then the other screens I make, but then when I go to make one disappear, I make them all disappear and I can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong.

QB64 Discussion / Re: How do you guys keep track of your files?
« on: December 17, 2018, 11:03:59 am »
I usually make a folder for the programming language that I'm using and then under that folder I make sub folders for each project and keep all of my files in there. I keep the main folder somewhere either under a programming folder on the c drive or under documents or something like that.

QB64 Discussion / Help with a pcopy question
« on: December 17, 2018, 11:01:28 am »
Hey all,
I'm not usually a game programmer, but I'm taking the plunge into doing some stuff with graphics and games type stuff, but I ran into a problem that I just can't seem to work out. Let's say I have 5 different sprites(png images) on the page and when one of them is clicked, it disappears. I can do everything up to the disappearing part. Actually, I can make it disappear, but they all disappear. I'm using pcopy _display, 1 then pcopy 1, _display (probably incorrectly). Do I need to draw them on seperate screens and then put them, which I did also try that too but again can't make them disappear correctly. If somebody could please give insight, I would appreciate it.

Thanks so much!

Have a great day all!

QB64 Discussion / Re: Mac seems to be fixed!

Fellippe,
Sorry I didn't see this sooner, but yes, they are issues for me as well. I was just excited that I could see the IDE at all since I couldn't see much with the crazy flashing before. We are 1 step closer I guess then.

QB64 Discussion / Mac seems to be fixed!

Yesterday my work Mac wanted me to update the OS, so I did and now that I did that, the terrible flickering issues that were happening prior to are now resolved, so if anybody is wondering if the update will fix it, it looks like it will. At least it did for me.

I can't seem to figure out, can there be borderless windows with QB64 programs. I mean no title bar or min, max, close buttons on Windows.

Thanks!

QB64 Discussion / Re: My QB64 debut anniversary

I completely agree wit Pete that this can have business application uses that people don't even consider. I started out on DOS 6.22 with qbasic, then got my hands on QB 4.5 and was bummed when Windows eventually shut it down, so when I accidentally found QB64 several years ago, I was extremely happy. I'm still not perfect with everything, but I appreciate the things that have been added to make things easier. The mouse comes to mind for me. No more Assembly for the mouse. I work as a web developer/programmer and the other day my bosses needed something done quick and it needed to be small and just a graphical interface that could launch 4 videos and then come back to the interface after they closed the window. Quick and small, hmm...I thought QB64 sounds like the tool to use and ever since I was a teenager programming in QB 4.5 I wanted to use it somehow in a professional sense. So I threw that UI together and it worked great! They were very happy and it was less than 2MB in size which made them even happier. I'm a QB64 guy for sure. Thanks for keeping it alive all those who contribute.

QB64 Discussion / Re: Don't get me started on START!
« on: December 09, 2018, 12:39:52 pm »
What's funny is at work the other day I was tasked to create a user interface that would run 360 videos but I needed to use 2 different programs to run them. Oh, and they needed it the next day, so I turned to trusty old QB64 and I actually was able to run batch scripts that did what I needed it to do using START and /MAX and they worked fine. I was quite surprised by it. I made the interface less than 2MB as well, which size was important to them as well. I was very happy with how QB64 performed.

QB64 Discussion / Re: Graphical IDE. Should we all pitch in and make one?
« on: October 03, 2018, 03:29:54 pm »
Just giving my 2 cents, one thing I was happy to see when I first found QB64 is that it looked like QB45 from back in the day. It kind of took me back a bit. The only thing is that at this point I've been using things like Notepad++, Sublime, Brackets, Visual Studio, etc... so having the feel of that would be nice as well.

I use Dav's IDE and I think it works well as a happy medium and I really like it. It could be an alternative some of you are looking for.

Although this does sound like a good project and I would be interested to see what could come out of it.

BPlus,
You are amazing! Thanks! I am working on making a paint program for my kids. They are growing up fast and I want them to have something that interests them and ms paint is boring, so I'm making them a themed paint program. It's going to be Avengers Themed, so obviously I would never be able to release it because of copyright and all, but it will be cool when it's done. Thanks again so much!

BPlus,
I'm using Dav's IDE.

Everybody,
Thanks again for all the help and answers!
