ICO of the App
« on: November 17, 2020, 03:43:26 am »
Hello everyone

I have a problem with the icons.

I think it's a Windows problem rather than QB64...

I changed the program icon to $EXEICON it's all right BUT the icon on the taskbar, at the bottom, keeps showing the old one.
I deleted every trace of the old one even in the windows registry.. but nothing! Continues to show it.

Do you have any idea how to upgrade the icon on the windows taskbar?

Nothing is easy, especially when it appears simple (and nothing could be as dangerous as trying to do good to others)

Try deleting the file IconCache.db in the %localappdata% path and then restart Windows.

Note the file might be hidden, so you have to set the explorer to view hidden and system files.

This file is there since Win Vista, no idea if Win10 still use it.

GuiTools - A graphic UI framework (can do multiple UI forms/windows in one program)
Libraries - ImageProcess, StringBuffers (virt. files), MD5/SHA2-Hash, LZW etc.
Bonus - Blankers, QB64/Notepad++ setup pack

Thank you RhoSigma,

With win7 i can't solve.
With win10 yes but not always.
I think it's a windows limit that needs to be bypassed with a little imagination.
