Thanks for all the great upgrades to the IDE...
« on: January 17, 2021, 09:54:41 am »
Prior to the previous year, I used to do all my coding in Notepad++. It was faster and easier than the QB64 IDE of past. I still like the more readable vertical lines with ++, but at some point, the IDE functionality improvements just lured me back, and with V1.3 and up I've become more comfortable using it over ++. I know between the IDE and the language upgrades, the language upgrades take priority, and should. There are several IDE options to code with, but only one QB64 language; however I just wanted to say thanks to those who have also made a commitment to upgrading the IDE. Rob certainly did a great job of creating it, and it's great to see the current team adding regular upgrades. For anyone unfamiliar with editors, any working editor is an awful lot of brain work and thousands of lines of coding. It takes awhile for new contributors to work through the existing code, before upgrades can even be added.

Glad to hear you're using the IDE again, Pete. Luckily for all of us there are people who only deal with it, people who only deal with the rest and people who deal with it all. Glad QB64 brought us all together.

Same here. I go away for a couple of years and come back and the first thing I noticed was how much the IDE felt improved. I trust it now.

Half the time I still want to use VIM as an editor, but that's an even split where before it was all VIM :)

Great work.

Long life to QB64IDE!
Also with ASCII style it is becoming a well suited IDE with many tools very useful.
The maintenance and the developing of the IDE is always on progress and this means so many efforts and hours dedicated to get these results.

THANKS QB64  DEVELOPERS TEAM !

Great job on the IDE!  Yes, Its improved so much over the years, and is the only one I use now.  When QB64 first came out the IDE ran very slow for me, that why I started making one, but  now the QB64 IDE is awesome and a pleasure to use.

Great job, team!

Also thank you for improving the IDE. I don't use anything else to write programs. It can be seen that a lot of work has been done on it.
