Installing 64 Bit QB64
« on: October 25, 2020, 05:47:46 pm »
I have been using the 32 bit version of QB64 for a number of years, as I till have about 15 computers running 32 bit.  I have many machines now running 64 bit, so I have downloaded the 64 bit version.

The IDE works fine, and I can compile the code, but the resulting .exe immediately  generates a critical error "cannot find dynamic library file"

I did not find any new dlls in the zip file, and I am running in the same directory that I am using for the 32 bit version, with all the same dll files.

The machine on which I am compiling and attempting to execute is running Windows 7 64bit.

Is there something else I have to install for 64 bit executables?

@bhamilton What are the DLLs you are trying to use? The main reason is due to not having 64 bit versions of the DLLs you are wanting to use. You will be unable to use 32 bit DLLs in 64 bit applications.
