Reading/ opening WordPerfect for DOS files...?

Has anyone here ever written (or know of) a BASIC/ QBASIC/ QB45/ QB64 routine for opening and reading WordPerfect for DOS files?

If so, I'm keen to learn more!

Never heard of such, and I don’t even know if the format specifications were ever released publicly, or documented.  Best bet would probably be to open those old files in Word (or Open Office/Libre Office) and then save them in a better documented/modern format.  (You can never go wrong with *.txt format.)
