Hi all. Nice work, Bplus, Pete and Fellippe.

Qwerkey: How do sphere using _MAPTRIANGLE? Imagine a set of circles offset in the Z axis. The depth is the same as the spacing of these circles apart (the difference in diameters). Divide the texture into squares and map these pieces of texture between these points. Cone is a simpler version, where the texture is only divided on the X-axis stripes, it is the last sample program in the MAPTRIANGLE 3D section. I will try to do something like this, but I do not say it will be right now. Lately I have very little time.

I have broken all Fellippe's rules.  You will need to export the Christmas 18 folder from the .zip into your QB64 folder (make sure that the export operation doesn't produce an extra folder layer).  Open the Lest We Forget.bas file from the IDE and make sure that you have the Save Exe In The Source Folder option checked.

The vertical resolution of your monitor needs to be greater than 900.

You will need audio.  Wait until program will closes itself.

The graphics are deliberately spartan and the theme is rather Anglo-centric, but the sentiment is universal I hope.

Fellippe, sorry about the rule breaking.  I first thought that I'd use SOUND statements for the audio (necessary for my subject matter).  But then I needed large text (and therefore a Font File).  We creatives hardly ever pay attention to rules!  By the way, the poppy field image was just an unused supplement to the theme.

I wanted to post a link to this one by TheBOB, but there are still a few QBASIC paint statements that don't quite jive with QB64, which results is massive color bleeding. Well, I mentioned on the QB Forum that I posted the snowfall program, and Bob decided to make his other Christmas program QB64 compatible. He posted it last night. The history of its creation goes something like this...

A long time ago, in a QBasic forum far far away
A lighted Christmas tree appeared, that's good enough you'd have to say
Well maybe so but not for me, it needs a choo-choo I exclaimed
And behold one appeared, but without out a tunnel for the train
Then a miracle occurred, and every thing was right
Merry Christmas to all, in 25 kilobytes
