Title: Qb64 Publicity
Post by: Ashish on August 17, 2018, 01:33:50 am
Hi everyone! :)
I don't know about other countries, but here in India, I see QB64 has become a part of computer syllabus for student
in 6 standard. Isn't it amazing?

The book contains chapter like "Introduction to QB64", etc. However, there is no mention of any QB64's specific
keyword except _NEWIMAGE().

Here are some pictures of book taken by me -

It's wonderful guys....

Thanks Ashish!

It's a pity that I have some troubles with my native language for input/output from keyboard and files...
IMHO this is connected to direct approach to I/O from keyboard and files and device$, so also for mouse (see trouble about swapping mouse buttons)... in this manner (not using OS functions) I face not internationalization of I/O function of C compiler used by QB64!

But IMHO searching better into documentation of C compiler I can find how to switch these features of C compiler....

Thanks Ashish again...

Yeah, that's a super discovery. So, 10 or 11 years old, sounds like about 5th Grade or so? Not half bad.

I think it's especially cool that they chose QB64, from among the various Basic variants available nowadays. Very nice. Maybe they will include InForm in some new release of the textbook.

Hi Petr. Sorry, but the textbook can be deliver only through India, not abroad.
Here's the publisher - https://www.kips.in/

Maybe they will include InForm in some new release of the textbook.
They have already added VB to 8th standard textbook. So, I don't think that they will include InForm as well.

I found a reference to QB64 on wiki books in my language version. I started adding more detailed information under some commands and functions in Czech. I'm still editing it and I will link there to QB64.ORG. I add more statements info to wikibooks later.

Piece of crap beginners book. Doesn't even touch on the more advanced stuff, like SCREEN 0.

In my School (In which I read in 9th Grade) includes QBASIC, From CLS to Arrays (In Grade 9 At least!) But no sign of QB64 at all xD.

Silent envy. If i have this option when I went to elementary school ... I was trained by GWBASIC and / or other basic mutations for Sinclair and Didactic Gamma. The options offered by QB64 were not possible at the time. I attach a couple of photos from a book released in 1990 when I went to elementary school to 6th class. That's time where I bought myself this book, because the textbooks did not contain all the commands.

Yes it's so. In 1990, when this book came out, I think i have  Commodore C64 (shortly because it was a worn out machine that broke up soon) and then first PC 80286 with 1 MB of RAM and 64 KB graphic card. It was a year after the revolution and fall of Communism in our country, so IT and everything around here was just beginning. And it started pretty fast. At my computer I sat 18 hoursat a weekends ... to get ready for school, my dad took a graphic card from my computer. Yeah, damn, it was times....

So Ashish - it starts with helping them with their homework and ends with you running a major corporation dedicated to the operation of all the world's robots, based on the advancements in QB64 which all those young Indian minds will offer.

Hey, speaking of publicity, look what I just ran across:

http://www.schoolfreeware.com/QBasic_Tutorial_27_-_Screens_-_QB64.html

Did anyone know this existed? I simply typed "screen 12 colors" in WebCrawler, and that was the first choice. And from there, the main page to the tutorials:

http://www.schoolfreeware.com/QBasic_Tutorials_-_QB64_Tutorials_-_Programming_And_Code_Examples.html

Very cool. They even say to try qb64.org if .net doesn't work.

I knew it existed. This is the site which helped me to learn QB64 during 2013-14. :)
