Title: QB64 REPORT S02E01: Interview with Marc Hoffman
Post by: FellippeHeitor on October 10, 2020, 08:40:57 pm
In this episode we talk to Marc Hoffman, from RemObjects Software. What does he and his company have to do with what we do at QB64? Listen to find out.

It's cool to be working on project that can compile multiple languages over multiple OS but I think I missed the tie in with QB64?

Just kind of iffy about continuing doing VB if they were even successful with that aspect?

It seems they (RemObjects) are way more into post .net changes MS made, what?, over a decade ago? when C# came into it's own.

Oh yeah, Season 2 already?!? Are you doing Seasons like Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring = 4 Seasons to a year?
If so, please talk to TV Programmers about this idea!  ;-))

Also I was wondering if Marc was talking about Oxygen Basic (which I really, really doubt) or something else called Oxygen?

The point of interest is that they are supporting basic outside of Microsoft's environment, like us.

Next episode is an interview with the guy who's reviving VB6, at radbasic.dev

Very interesting podcast.  I am so happy that QB64 was available when XP went away.

I also wondered why this vendor would support VB, but then again, IBM is still supporting COBOL.  They might not want do, but they get maintenance dollars for a lot of companies....

Thanks Fellippe - what an interesting interview. Feels a lot like they are developing a complier on steroids. The potential of all the world computers communicating and understanding in their own language. Could this be the start of Skynet and the rise of the Terminator?
