Its been a while since I first shared this program. I've made some changes and finally decided to share it again....if anyone likes it.
I hope the included ReadMe file helps. Be sure to read it.

Cool. I'm interested in programs like this, having made a small .jpg player too Here (https://www.qb64.org/forum/index.php?topic=2570.msg118220#msg118220). Mine doesn't have the nice graphical controls like yours. Your menu with thumbnail is nice, and I like the controls with progress bar at the bottom. QB64 has some nice sound capabilities too, so adding audio with the video would is an easy addition. I found that the .OGG sound format to be the best compromise with space and sound quailty, so that's what my player used.
Thanks for sharing.

I've tried playing sound with the animation but had trouble getting the animation and sound in sync.

I had the same trouble. @SMcNeill came up with a decent solution (it's in that thread), but it made small clicks in the sounds. I ended up using _LIMIT FramesPerSecond, which works OK on smaller clips. After a while though the sound does get out of sync some.
