was looking forward to this and it was never released on Steam. Anyone know what happened?

The Black Annex gamepedia (https://blackannex.gamepedia.com/Black_Annex_Wiki) site hasn't been updated since July of last year. The "Official Page" in the links section says, "Coming Soon"... But who knows how long THAT info has been posted?
